Equipping Alaskans with the skills to build sustainable homes and strong communities
Hands-on training in remote construction
Our Vision
Alaska Building Arts & Sciences envisions a future where every Alaskan community thrives through sustainable, climate-resilient housing and a skilled, self-sufficient workforce. By providing hands-on training not only in construction but also in traditional and essential skills such as skin sewing, agriculture and greenhouse cultivation, survival, and practical life skills, we are cultivating a strong foundation of local expertise. Our vision includes a network of satellite campuses across Alaska—centers of innovation and community learning—where traditional knowledge meets modern building science to create a connected system of resilient, economically vibrant communities that harness local resources, meet housing needs, address skilled labor shortages, and foster long-term prosperity for generations to come.
Our leadership team and instructors bring decades of experience to teach a diverse range of skills—from construction and sustainable housing to skin sewing, greenhouse agriculture, survival, and essential life skills—equipping Alaskans to strengthen their communities.
